Re: what do you think of kundalini?
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 9:09 AMHere's a place for people who don't take homeopathic suppliments or see a psychic. People who appreciate Martin Gardner, Michael Shermer and other writers for publications like The Skeptic and Skeptical Inquirer. -

Re: what do you think of kundalini?
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 6:26 PMI think that you'll feel a focus of energy if you concentrate on any part of your body long enough.
I'm not surprised that the pelvic bowl would be a center of your energy zones, there are many physiological reasons for this. The siatic (psy-at-ic) nerve bundle resides down there, our reproductive organs, and lots of other squishy little houses of vital importance are in that area of the body. When you concentrate on these things your body reacts with subtle, and not so subtle, shifts in hormone balance changing your mood and feelings.
I do feel these changes and shifts in myself when I use Kundalini yoga and meditations but I'm far too much of a skeptic to feel l that there is anything going on beyond my body's own rumblings.

Re: what do you think of kundalini?
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 8:59 AMJezebel - Did you write "psy-a-tic" because you were making a new age wordplay or just because it's how "sciatic" sounds? Without this distinction being clear I'd suspect that to some of us here it's not clear what you meant! -

Re: what do you think of kundalini?
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 10:31 AMWhether new age word play or mispelled, 'psyatic' is still a kick ass word; however 'kundalini' sounds like an onomatopoeia for oral sex that goes terribly wrong. -

Re: what do you think of kundalini?
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 5:24 PM"He who concentrates on trees, misses the logging truck coming right at them." I was sounding it out because I knew I spelled it wrong.
My point is that Kundalini energy is just a fancy word for a whole bunch of processes that go on in that part of the body.

Re: what do you think of kundalini?
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 6:50 PMFifi, You want to divert attention away from the subject of Kundalini?
hmmm.. I wonder why?
Fifi, you belong to a Buddhism tribe as well as a yoga tribe.. so you must have thought of kundalini. I bet you have.
What do you think of kundalini?
