One thing I find interesting and amusing is the Scientologists' defence lawyer using the bad apple defence - actually comparing it to the Catholic pedophile priest scandal...! :
"Patrick Maisonneuve, lawyer for the Church of Scientology in France, dismissed any organized fraud, although he acknowledged there could have been individual abuses.
"The discovery of a pedophile priest does not allow us to question the entire Catholic Church," he was quoted as saying in the weekly L'Express magazine ahead of the trial opening." "
Um, excuse me, but a worldwide pattern of pedophilic abuse and organized cover-ups by the hierarchy over many years most certainly DOES allow us to question the entire Catholic Church!
THIS is his analogy??

Tue, May 26, 2009 - 12:33 PMIt's the whole "We know they're a scam, they know they're a scam, they know that we know they're a scam, now they just have to keep within the play boundaries of the law and keep on scamming."
