Mon, May 4, 2009 - 1:12 PMSo, all we need now is for some Ayatollah to issue a death sentence fatwā on this teacher to put things into further perspective?! -

Re: An Alarming Attack on Free Speech
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 1:24 PMAt least one Christian leader already advocates the murder of his opponets. Here is a quote from Randall Terry the founder of the anti abortion terrorist group called Operation Rescue:
"When I, or people like me, are running the country, you'd better flee, because we will find you, we will try you, and we'll execute you. I mean every word of it. I will make it part of my mission to see to it that they are tried and executed." Terry Randall, quoted from "The War On Faith"

Re: An Alarming Attack on Free Speech
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 1:31 PMyou know actually i agree with the judge, that teacher crossed the line. in a science class a teacher should be able to present reasoned, supported arguments for why creationism isn't a valid scientific theory. but for a history professor to just rant like that isn't very useful and isn't his job. -

Re: An Alarming Attack on Free Speech
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 6:11 PMYeah, my thoughts exactly. He should have limited it to something along the fact that students are free to study creationism on their own but evolution is the curriculum. Free speech is already very limited in high schools as they are. -

Re: An Alarming Attack on Free Speech
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 7:28 PMthere's also lots of information that he could have provided as a history teacher that would have let the kids understand for themselves why the dogma they've been brainwashed with doesn't make any sense. just calling it bullshit to a captive audience isn't appropriate or effective. -

Re: An Alarming Attack on Free Speech
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 7:54 PMExactly. Christians are already told that it is bullshit only convinces them that evolution is a dogma, so he may have actually lost people.
