Re: A SERMON?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 2:05 PMit's more a rant, and a clever one at that. i think pat condell is great.
"christianity is nothing but a primitive death cult masquerading as a religion! everything about christianity is stolen from earlier cultures, earlier belief systems. nothing about it is real, except for its obsession with death. christianity worships death as the ultimate sacrament. it revels in death. you might as well have death up there on the alter, grinning down at you like a halloween pumpkin. because that's what you're celebrating, not life. you could say that christianity makes death worth living."
haha. i think it's right on. i mean look at some of those images of christ on the cross. it's bizarre, placing an instrument of torture at the center of your belief system. certainly far and away more irrational than a holy cow. at least cows do something useful. -

Yes, they give milk, and generate manure... so handy for fertilizer.
And yet, I'd have to say that over the years religion has produced more bull$#it than all the world's cattle put together.
Sorry... juvenile little joke.

Re: A SERMON?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 3:41 PMI wonder how many of those "Christians" actually behave like real Christians. -

I wonder why you wonder.. -

Re: A SERMON?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 4:03 PMHow could one define "real Christian?" For instance there are some Christians who are pro-choice and others who are not. Some Christians support same sex marriage and others do not. Somesee their Jesus as a punishing and vengeful figure and other Christians view Jesus as a loving and forgiving figure. Some theologins speculate that John and Jesus were gay lovers and some think not.
How one behaves is much more important than which Jesus they choose to believe. -

Re: A SERMON?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 4:22 PMdefining what a "real"christian is is just strategizing to moderate their arbitrary nonsense by claiming that the less sociopathic of their inanities are more authentic.
"How could one define "real Christian?"" -

Re: A SERMON?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 4:44 PMI think the fact that Christians do not speak with one voice (on just about any issue) says a lot about their imaginary sky god. No self respecting ruler of the universe would leave so much room for ambiguity. -
-
Re: A SERMON?
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 4:50 PMthe convenient thing about imaginary sky gods is they can do anything they like.
i mean if i were an imaginary sky god the rules would change any time i damn well felt like it.
